Boarding Policies and Forms

This page is still under construction.  Please check back for uploaded forms and feel free to call us at 931-29CAT29 (292-2829) for more detailed information.

Vaccination Requirements

  • Vaccination requirements are for the safety and well-being of your pet and the Rabies vaccination is required by law.  Our vaccination requirements are based on the most recent guidelines issued by the American Association of Feline Practitioners (AAFP).

  • All adult cats must have proof of current Rabies and FVRCP vaccinations.  These vaccinations should be administered no less than 7-10 days prior to boarding.

  • All kittens must have proof of 2 doses of FVRCP vaccinations, given at least 3-4 weeks apart, with the last dose given no less than 7-10 days prior to boarding.  All kittens older than 12 weeks of age must also have proof of a Rabies vaccination.

  • We only accept proof of vaccination by a licensed veterinarian.  Vaccinations that have been purchased from other sources or administered at home by the owner are NOT acceptable.

  • If your cat does not meet these requirements, and it is no less than 7 days prior to checking in to The Mews Inn and Spa, we would be happy to schedule an appointment for a physical exam to include necessary vaccinations, prior to boarding.  Payment for these services will be due when performed.

  • In the event that your cat needs to be boarded right away, if space is available, we will perform a physical exam, administer the required vaccinations or boosters and your cat will be boarded in our isolation room for a minimum of 7 days before being allowed to enter the Mews Inn and Spa.  Payment for these services will also be due when performed.

Fleas, Ticks, Ear Mites, and other External Parasites

  • The safety and well-being of your kitty is our number ONE priority.  Serious and often deadly diseases can be transmitted to your cat by these parasites.  Some infections can also be transmitted to you or our staff.  For these reasons, as part of the check-in process, all cats are examined for external parasites or infections.  If fleas or evidence of fleas, ticks or ear-mites is found during check-in or while your pet is a guest, they will be treated accordingly, at your expense.

Personal Belongings/Special Needs

  • We welcome the opportunity to make your kitty as comfortable as possible.  Space permitting, feel free to bring his/her favorite bed or toys.  Please note, we will do our best to make sure that all items are well taken care of, however we are not responsible for any lost or damaged personal items.

  • If your kitty eats a special or prescription diet, please bring enough of this food to last for the duration of his/her stay.  If we have to order a prescription diet or dispense one from the clinic supply, you will be charged for an entire bag/box.  Please let us know if your cat only eats wet food.  We strongly recommend bringing a small supply of your cat’s own food so that they have an easier time adjusting to their new temporary home away from home.

Medication Administration

  • At The Cats on Commerce, we want you to feel confident that your cat who requires medication is in safe hands.  Whether your diabetic kitty needs daily insulin injections or your cat with hyperthyroidism needs oral medication, all pets who are guests at The Mews Inn and Spa, and are receiving medicine, are monitored by a doctor.

  • Garden view with daily medication $38

  • Playroom view with daily medication $32.50
